Leon Mann, Centre Director

Professor Mann's research and development articles have been on factors influencing innovation; models of leadership and communication; creativity in project teams; team climate and innovativeness; leadership and trust in project teams; and factors in successful research collaboration between industry and universities.

Professor Mann has held Australian Research Council (ARC) Spirit grants with Broken Hill Petroleum (BHP), Orica, Australian Government Department of Defence (DSTO), Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Motorola and the Sustainable Energy Authority Victoria (SEAV) as industry partners. He chairs the Business and Higher Education Round Table (BHERT) Awards Committee for excellence in research and development collaboration and is a member of the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Association Awards Committee for research excellence. He has also served on the National Research Priorities Consultative Panel and Expert Advisory Committee 2002-2003 for the Minister of the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training. From 1991 to 2003, he taught and was the Pratt Family Chair of Leadership at the Melbourne Business School.
