Enquire about PhD, Doctor of Medical Science or Masters by Research degrees
The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences is the second largest research organisation in Australia. The large number of active researchers and potential topic areas can be daunting for prospective students.
Prospective research students are therefore encouraged to browse through the Faculty's eight broad Research Domains and search for a prospective supervisor using our Find a Researcher database before making an enquiry. If you know the researcher(s) you are interested in working with you are welcome to email them directly. If you are already studying at Melbourne but want to find out about other potential supervisors or if you are new to Melbourne and exploring opportunities outside your home state or country, we recommend you submit an enquiry or an expression of interest via the Graduate Research Enquiry (GRE) website of the University.
Enquiries and Expressions of Interest lodged through the GRE website are guaranteed to receive a response from our Student Centre. Expressions of Interest are a pre-application assessment process (not an application form) which allows the Faculty to make an informed assessment of your eligibility for entry and realistically assess your suitability for graduate research. Submitting the Expression of Interest does not guarantee a place in a research degree. To find out more about the degrees available, career paths in medical research or the PhD Experience, visit Research Higher Degrees.
