Due to a redevelopment project the Brownless Biomedical Library is planned to be closed after the standard examination period has finished on 26 June, 2009. It is anticipated that the Library will remain closed until early 2010. More info

Undergraduate courses

Our new generation degree, the Bachelor of Biomedicine is now available. The Bachelor of Biomedicine is a ideal pathway to graduate study in any of the professional health science courses offered by the University. An integrated, full-time degree, it offers students twelve major streams of study across a broad range of biomedical disciplines and the opportunity to study subjects from other degree courses offered by the University. Undergraduate entry professional courses are also available in Dental Science and Physiotherapy.

Graduate professional entry-to-practice courses

Our graduate professional degrees, designed to qualify students for professional registration and employment, offer highly competitive and specialised graduate professional education. Our sophisticated clinical and academic training offers student a focused and intense course of studies tailored to the needs of those seeking to pursue advanced professional careers.

We currently offer excellent graduate professional entry to practice courses in nursing, social work, psychology. Graduate entry to our current medical course is no longer available. Our exciting new range of graduate professional entry to practice courses being developed in the areas of dental surgery, medicine and physiotherapy will be available in 2011.

Graduate courses

Graduates looking for advanced training or career development can choose from the many graduate coursework programs offered in the wide range of key health discipline areas. Our highly qualified academics are available to help students extend and improve their professional, academic and management expertise and develop their research skills.

With an annual research income over $200 million, we offer research students a chance to work with outstanding researchers in areas ranging from clinical and population science tobiotechnology and genetics. The area of biomedical research provides students and graduates with the opportunity to work at the forefront of scientific knowledge and contribute to solutions for some of the world's most significant scientific and human problems. Our reserach staff and students are involved in many collaborative projects, both locally and internationally. Honours programs and Research Higher Degrees are available in the wide range of areas covered by our Research Domains.

Indigenous students

Our Master of Social Health (Aboriginal Health) is designed for clinical, community and public health professionals, and others with a specific interest in Aboriginal Health. It will help you extend your knowledge and expertise in a range of areas applicable to Aboriginal Health, such as policy processes, Koori health, ethical practice in Aboriginal health and current critical debates. You can apply for assistance through a range of scholarships and bursaries, including a number that are Indigenous specific.
