Staff safety off-campus

Staff undertaking off-campus activities including conferences, research, fieldwork and excursions must ensure that adequate risk assessments and control measures are in place. Staff should ensure that the following checklist is completed before all travel on university business.

Student safety off-campus

Undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking off-campus activities including conferences, placements, research, fieldwork and excursions must ensure that adequate risk assessments and control measures are in place. Students must follow the safe work guidelines offerred by their department, the faculty and the university.

What to do for placements within Australia:

  1. Send out the Placement Agreement to the Host Organisation [O2 PDF 69KB]
  2. Ensure students have completed a Medical Declaration [I3 PDF 56KB]
  3. Ensure students have completed a vaccination assessment [I7 PDF 73KB]
  4. Ensure students have signed the student declaration [O3 PDF 60KB]
  5. Ensure students have completed the Faculty Infectious diseases policy Consent Form

What to do for domestic and international travel OR overseas placements:

Refer to the university guidelines for travelling to overseas destinations.

  3. Complete the medical questionnaire [I3 PDF 73KB]
  4. Check for vaccination requirements [I7 PDF 73KB]

  6. Complete and return the travel authorisation Form [PDF 56KB]
  7. Register with the Insurance Office (overseas only) university insurance forms
