The prestigious Elizabeth and Vernon Puzey postgraduate research scholarship is funded from a bequest made to the faculty by Mrs Elizabeth Puzey in 1994. The aim of the scholarship is to retain the services of well qualified citizens of Australia from leaving Australia.

Who can apply: You must be an Australian citizen or an international student holding an Australian residency certificate to apply. The recipient must undertake his or her higher research studies within Australia.
Process: The Faculty Research Training Committee, chaired by the Associate Dean (Research Training), will select the recipient based on academic performance at undergraduate level. A very high standard is expected.
Value: $27,500 p.a.
Tenure: Available for up to 3.5 years, subject to an annual satisfactory progress report of your research.
Application closing date and how to apply: To be considered for this scholarship you are strongly encouraged to apply for a Melbourne Research Scholarship (MRS) and/or an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) using the University’s Scholarships Application System (SCHOLS) by 31 October. You must also complete the attached Elizabeth and Vernon Puzey Scholarship Application Form by the closing date of 31 October to be considered for this scholarship. Late applications will not be considered.
