Undergraduate coursesInnovative teaching programs and an outstanding reputation provide students in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences with an exciting learning environment and excellent career opportunities. The faculty's main campus is in the heart of an exciting biomedical research precinct and close to major city hospitals. The faculty will be accepting students into the following traditional undergraduate programs in 2008: Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery/Medical Science (6yrs) Graduate entry Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (4.5 yrs) Bachelor of Dental Science (5 yrs) Bachelor of Oral Health (3 yrs) Bachelor of Physiotherapy (4 yrs) In 2008 the faculty will also introduce and accept students into its new Bachelor of Biomedicine (3 yrs) under the university's new 'Melbourne Model'. The Bachelor of Biomedicine will be the preferred pathway to the university's biomedical professional graduate courses. These professional graduate courses, to be phased in between 2008 and 2011, will provide pathways to careers in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing, optometry, social work and biomedical research. The faculty will be accepting students into the following undergraduate programs in 2009: Bachelor of Biomedicine (3 yrs) Bachelor of Dental Science (5 yrs) Bachelor of Oral Health (3 yrs) Bachelor of Physiotherapy (4 yrs) The following undergraduate programs will be available from 2010: Bachelor of Biomedicine (3 yrs) Bachelor of Oral Health (3 yrs) Students can also gain entry into graduate study in biomedicine through the new generation Bachelor of Science, or in the case of psychology and social work, through the new generation Bachelor of Arts. |
