Faculty one-year research higher degree scholarshipsEach year the faculty offers one-year postgraduate scholarships to assist research higher degree students begin their program of studies and qualify for major scholarships such as Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRS), Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA). It is therefore usual for students who receive these one-year stipends to have concurrent applications to other awards. These interim funds are available to students undertaking research in a range of biomedical and health sciences related areas. Eligibility criteriaTo be eligible for the one-year research higher degree scholarships, applicants must have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement. Prestigious scholarshipsElisabeth and Vernon Puzey Postgraduate Research ScholarshipThis scholarship is open to graduates undertaking research in a school/department of the faculty or at approved institutions. Melville Hughes ScholarshipThis scholarship is open to medical graduates to undertake research in respect of furthering surgical studies. Postgraduate capacity building research bursaries for Indigenous AustraliansThese bursaries will be available to students of Indigenous Australian descent who wish to undertake certificate, postgraduate diploma, masters or PhD studies in 2008.
